Speed + Efficacy = Desired Outcome

Responding quickly to a water damage or sewage loss, and using the appropriate restoration methods, is very important to ensuring a positive outcome for the loss. DEI has the training, experience and knowledge to assist adjusters and the restoration contractor with the development and implementation of appropriate restoration methods for these types of losses.

Mold – The Uninsured Peril

Source identification and root cause analysis is very important for losses involving the presence of mold contamination since mold itself is typically not covered by a policy of insurance. DEI will ensure there is an appropriate level of due diligence in determining the initiating incident or condition which resulted in the observed mold contamination.

No Acceptable Criteria for Mold

There are currently no government regulations, industry standards or guidelines which define a specific quantity of mold contamination which would be considered “acceptable” inside buildings. This is due, in part, to the variability in human health effects experienced by persons who may be exposed to the same quantity of mold contamination. DEI can assess a mold loss and provide an expert opinion on the potential human health risks, if any, for the specific conditions presented by the loss.
