Mike is an environmental expert with extensive experience in the assessment and remediation of indoor and outdoor environmental contaminants. Mike’s experience includes leading large, complex, multi-disciplinary losses. He is licensed to practice engineering in Ontario and Alberta. He is also a Registered Professional Industrial Hygienist in the USA. Mike has provided expert opinions at Tribunals in Ontario and Alberta. Mike is qualified to provide professional opinions to the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks and the Technical Standards and Safety Authority. He has extensive experience working with many different governmental agencies at the municipal, provincial and federal levels, where his opinions have been recognized and accepted. Mike takes a very practical approach to his work, with an emphasis on using data and factual evidence to define his conclusions. Mike’s opinions are credible and have been relied upon by his customers to assist them through the claims process.

Mihailo Dzekic Project Manager

Mihailo has experience with the assessment and remediation of environmental spills. This includes field assessment, data interpretation as well as project and contractor management. Mihailo is dedicated to providing customers with the highest quality of service, completing projects in a timely and professional manner. His attention to detail and work ethic help him deliver excellent results on all the projects he manages or participates in. Mihailo achieved an Honours Bachelor of Science degree with Distinction from the University of Toronto specializing in both Environmental Geoscience and Geology. Mihailo is a Geoscientist-in-Training with Professional Geoscientists Ontario.

Chris is a forensic expert who specializes in the determination of cause and origin for fires and explosions. Chris is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator. His experience includes a wide range of fire and explosion incidents from small vehicle fires to large, complex fire/explosion incidents. Chris worked for the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall as a fire investigator and fire investigation manager. Prior to that Chris had 30 years of experience in law enforcement including as a criminal detective. During Chris’s career he has had extensive experience related to criminal proceedings including providing expert witness testimony in Ontario Provincial Court related to fire investigations.

In Chris’s spare time he likes to race cars and instruct at high performance driving events.

Nicole Rigaud, M.Sc., MBA

Business Development

Nicole Rigaud - Vice President of Finance

Nicole oversees the business development as well as the financial accounting and planning for the company. She has a broad business background, including engineering, which provides DEI with strong corporate and fiscal management. Nicole has been trained in environmental field assessments and remediation projects, including interactions with clients and property owners. These cross functional experiences have improved DEI’s ability to align our corporate strategies with those of our customers.
